Data Scientist II @ Northwestern Mutual

• Finetuned and created new Sequence Classification models using pytorch to serve as protective guardrails to protect the business and individuals from information leakage. * Worked with various providers from Meta, AWS, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Databricks to utilize and create guardrail solutions based on company use cases. * Developed models using PyTorch and Tensorflow to compare ethical policies and more. • Utilized the latest research available to create new models capable of handling prompt finetuning for LLMs and additional business use cases. • Strategized and put together a business roadmap to architect a plan of action for development over the next 2 years for guardrails. • Built an evaluation system to test the effectiveness of current and new guardrails we plan to include within the GenAI Orchestrator while collaborating across different teams and departments.

• Performed analysis on 26 devices currently used in construction and created a presentation with insight and actionable items for managers and executives to optimize their usage of equipment. • Built functions to extract, clean, organize, and visualize parameter data and engineered features to track the performance of each vehicle’s daily, weekly, monthly, and overall performance. • Developed code to facilitate the process of generating synthetic data and analysis of how weather insights impact construction.

Taught and instructed one of the foundational courses titled Data 8 for Data Science Majors @ UC Berkeley. As an instructor it included preparing material and lessons to instruct students, helping in office hours with assignments and projects, proctoring exams, grading, and helping debug error messages.

UX/UI Design Intern @ Slate Technologies

• Compiled relevant information for construction managers based on current designs and drew low fidelity prototypes organizing each page and section. • Created over 4 separate Figma prototypes and wireframes to demonstrate accessibility of relevant information for construction managers while keeping them up to date on the progress of current projects. • Implemented new pages to facilitate the process of construction managers viewing their projects across the globe.

Co-Founder @ Blackbook

• Managed and oversaw the development of our IOS and Android digital platforms providing direction to a third-party team of developers in the creation of our MVP. • Designed the first iteration prototypes, wireframing, and development of our MVP platform utilizing Figma prototypes. Conducted user research from our target audience and included them in our development phase. • Formulated a data research proposal to conduct user testing and better assess the needs of our target audience. • Created the information architecture behind the navigational flow and user experience of our application. Drafted the initial features and product roadmap for developers to see the full scope of our vision and product.

Research & Development @ Koya

• Assembled medical devices for clients, research, client testing and feedback on how to improve the iterative design. Built electrical tests using medical devices and voltage generators to determine the longevity of individual devices. • Prepared excel documents and performed data analysis using client measurements to create reports and data visuals with the purpose of determining what sizes to build the newest device using Microsoft Excel, jupyter lab, pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and seaborn. • Provided direction and insight on how to optimize the company’s current device and device under development utilizing data driven research experiments with over 50 client measurement entries.

Undergrad Research Assistant @ Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience

• Wrote an algorithm designed to handle over thirteen million entries of neural recorded data from ECoG devices surgically placed on lab rat brains and responding to digital sounds played at different stimulant frequencies and amplitudes. • The algorithm produced the best stimulant frequency given an amplitude for each channel on the ECoG device using numpy in jupyter notebook and constructed a heatmap data visual using HoloView. • Applied data science skills using pandas, numpy, and code from pynwb files to handle neural data.

Research & Development @ Fung Fellowship

• Working with a company called Byer Square to conduct user research and design a web portal to impact over 500 senior citizens and foster ambition, combat loneliness, and encourage more face to face interactions. • Worked with a non-profit organization called Purple Asparagus to design a portal that would help children in over 50 schools in Chicago connect low-income working class parents with their children’s school.
